蕉財進寶

香蕉是台灣目前最大宗之外銷新鮮農產品，在亞熱帶氣候條件孕育下，台蕉香甜可口、風味獨特，廣被國內外消費者喜愛，數十年來外銷日本一直持續不斷。日本統治台灣時代(1895-1945) 的風景明信片內容，不乏香蕉和美女、香蕉園、香蕉集貨場、火車與輪船轉運香蕉的鏡頭，可見當時盛況。1960年代栽培面積達四萬多公頃，年外銷曾創下二千六百萬箱之最高紀錄，不但直接為台灣賺取可觀的財富，還間接孕育了台灣日後進行國際貿易的種籽人才。台語「蕉」「招」同音，台灣香蕉還真的是「招財進寶」的吉祥物呢。
