會長賴慧娜 生態平衡 相輔相成 “Inclusive Diversity”

NATWA President's Message
Your trust is a great honor for me to take the responsibility of leading NATWA. In the past year, under the leadership of Mei Shi, and with the dedicated efforts of her team, NATWA achieved and exceeded all its goals. Congratulations! The timely advice and guidance to me from past presidents boosted my confidence to assume this formidable responsibility!
Currently, NATWA has sixteen local chapters, twenty working groups, and six special projects; we must rally all the talents to move NATWA forward. Fortunately, NATWA has a contingent of extremely talented, and enthusiastic and loving members, local chapter presidents, project leaders and head quarter team who step forward to assume all kinds of works. The year to come will be a very fruitful and an exciting one.
Since the onset of Covid 19 pandemic in 2019, it impacted our daily life and value unprecedentedly. Facing such a shock, we cannot but reflecting on how human being can coexist with all other creatures harmoniously! That is why I proposed “Inclusive Diversity” as the theme of the coming year. As we confronted with tremendous amount of changes, maintaining a sustainable balance of the ecosystem is the only way to achieve the co-existence of all creatures.
Following the tracts of multiculturalism by Julia Chang and love nature by Mei Shi Chu, this year we will focus on the balance between nature, culture, economic and race relation ; we believe that an inclusive world is the best heritage and legacy we can leave behind for our future generations.
We will work diligently on two fronts: externally foster spiritual of community through community services and networking with other communities, and internally increase our efforts and resources to serve our members. On planning of succession, we had recruited more Younger Generation to join NATWA and provide more service opportunities for our young leaders. We will put more efforts working to connect with other service groups in light of the resumption of the in person activities post pandemic as in North America, general public has adopted to live with the virus and more and more people are traveling. It is very encouraging to see many NATWA local chapters had resumed meeting in person.
I am overly excited to report that 2022 Mid-year Board Meeting which currently under carefully planning and is going to hold on October 20-22,2022 at Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel. In addition to board meeting, we have planned seminars on ecosystem, innovation, transition, and actions. Post conference tour will take us to Low Hudson Valley and Midtown Manhattan to explore the rich history and unique ecosystem. Frances Jean will be the coordinator of the Mid-year Board Meeting.
Last but not the least, we are extremely excited to report that the planning team has been on full steam to plan 2023 NATWA convention in LA April 20-23, 2023. The venue will be Double Tree by Hilton Los Angeles at Rosemead. Shu Cheng will be the over-all coordinator. The entire planning will spare no effort to ensure our reunion after three years hibernate will be safe and incredibly happy. Let us join hand in hand to celebrate the return of normal beautiful life. Long live NATWA!
