  親愛的NATWA 姊妹們，您們好！首先在此謝謝您對我的信任和給我服務與學習的機會。 今年剛好是挪大的20 週年, 就像青少年轉大人一樣, 感謝洪珠美前會長和洛杉磯分會的姐妹為我們辦了一次有記念性的年會. 也感謝咱多才多藝的張月英和許多姐妹為我們編寫這期的Newsletter July, 2008, 盼望您可藉此了解我們會內的組織負責人與近月來的會員的活動與進度。

這數月來 , 感謝眾多姊妹的努力 , 會務進行順利，各組負責人盡心又盡力，譬如基金組的 葉明霞與林郁子 前會長為我們的 NATWA 基金把關，章程組的 吳美芬 前會長與組員們修改會長、副會長及理事選舉罷免辦法，會員資料組的 蘇惠美 姊妹不勞其煩 update 我們的會籍 ， 林芳美與 Arizona 分會的姐妹在 LA 年會選舉中的幫忙，認真的 童淑惠 負責傳達獎學金的資訊，史料組 郭慈玉與陳碧惠 姊妹在年會中嘸冥嘸日為我們留下珍貴的鏡頭，聯手組的 陳秋葺與張肅 姐妹重新更正福大的資料，開源組由 李碧娥 領軍，多謝月 曆組的 李淑櫻 、 田惠娟 與組員姊妹們臺美往返製作月曆的辛勞， 王明玲 姊妹領軍的關懷組， 張秀滿 姐妹負責文化組，現任 St. Louis 分會會長 洪英釵 姊妹精心策劃 2008 年會員通訊錄，八月與明年一月的Newsletter 由 張月英與徐梅熙 姐妹發行，今年八月與明年一月的聯誼通訊就拜託 陳香梅 、 王淑芬 姐妹掌舵， Georgia 的 陳慧貞 教授二話不說就接下印刷的任務，今年的挪大網頁版主改由 San Diego 分會會長 歐春美 擔當，感謝 潘賢進 前會長的鼎力協助讓網頁順利運作，請您們三不五時上網看看 21 世紀的挪大網頁 www.natwa.com ，咱ｅ點心擔由 Washington DC 的 陳美麗 姐妹操盤，請各區理事與分會長多多摧稿，在此特別要感謝咱 NC 州 謝金朱 姊妹的另一半 劉格正 先生為我們的廣告目錄編排 digital files ，咱們的special projects 臺灣災區學童認養計劃負責人 葉錦如 以及 林春惠 、 李芬芬 、 林美華 等姊妹的協助下工作進行順利，她們將於九月回台 頒發獎學金，詳情請見咱ｅ八月出版的聯誼通訊。捐書回臺由 賴淑娟 負責， 葉寶桂 前會長負責 Team Taiwan ， 王金碧與 Kansas 分會的姊妹負責 Care for Soldiers ， NATWA II 由 郭慈安 姊妹主持。

咱 e 年中理事會即將於 10/16 ~ 10/19, 2008. 在 Charleston, SC 的 Sheraton Hotel North Charleston 舉行。今年的人材訓練主題將是挪大未來的規劃與方針，由我們 优秀的 NATWA II 成員作Workshop, 星期五晚上有 Charleston Harbor 的遊艇晚宴，禮拜日有7 個小時的會後旅遊，請您大家藉此機會來參加這個盛會。另外尚未繳交2008 年年費的姊妹請將款項寄給咱e 會計 黃乃佳 姊妹， Ms. Nai-Chia Kuo 4328 Sprucebough Dr. Alpharetta, GA 30062 妳如有意見或proposal ，請您隨時與我或秘書楊玲玲(NY) 與李碧娥(CA) 聯絡secretary@natwa.com 。

Workshop- “Non-profit Strategic Planning & Board Management”

By Dr. Tsuann Kuo. 郭慈安姊妹

One of Tsuann’s master degrees is on non-profit management. She has been a speaker/trainer for many American mainstream organizations, including the Alzheimer Association, AARP, California Parts and Recreation Society, American Association of Volunteer Administrators and other Asian American Organizations. Tsuann will cover the following in this training session:

組織發展與策略規劃

隨著人口結構與台美關係的變化 , 許多台灣人的組織都面臨需要重新檢討再出發的階段或世代交替的瓶頸 . 這次的訓練將以 NATWA 的 20 年組織發展為範例 , 讓大家學習非營利組織的理事會管理 (board management), 作業執行與評估 (operation execution and program evaluation), 與策略規劃 (strategic planning). 訓練課程將可應用於 NATWA 分會與其他台美組織的管理與經營 .

Overall Directions:

  • How can I be a better leader in a non-profit organization?
  • How do I manage vision, mission, and objectives in a changing environment?
  • What is the business model for a national Taiwanese organization?
  • What are the opportunities and threats that NATWA faces in a changing environment?

Operations:

  • What are the responsibilities of a board member in a non-profit organization?
  • How do I conduct program evaluation and standardize performance measure?
  • How can we improve the effectiveness of certain internal operations (e.g. fund-raising, membership recruitment, PR and marketing, etc.?)
  • How does NATWA secure its long-term operation while carrying its mission and priorities?

“ 生活座談會 ” by 黃美惠 姊妹

美惠姊妹是咱 e 第四屆的會長 (1991-1992) ，也是理財專業經理。

 “E-Mail Etiquette” by 葉明霞 姊妹

明霞姊妹是 NATWA 第十八屆會長 (2005-2006) ，也是 GE 高級 Project Manager 。

 “ 挪大 e 精神 ”by 程韻如、陳秋葺、李芬芬、張月英 姊妹

韻如姊妹是咱 e 第十四屆會長 (2001-2002) 也是現任世臺會 e 會長，秋葺、芬芬、月英則曾任挪大的理事與分會長，並且在各組中奉獻多年。 NATWA 創會至今已是 20 週年了，為了讓後進姊妹体會咱 e 創會精神，特別安排這個節目讓早期參與的姊妹現身說法，希望會員能團結走更 遠的路。

郁子姐妹是咱 e 第九屆會長 (1996-1997) ，理財專業經理，智多星、 NATWA Fund 的經理者。

咱 e Board members 每年或者每二年就換人作，有必要在年中會中再次複習一下 board members 的職責。挪大須要passing the torch, a vision for the future.

“Meditation” by 呂秋宏與邱良媛 姊妹, 秋宏與良媛姊妹有她們在的地方就有笑聲，曾是咱 e 東南區與中西部的理事。請參加此節目的姊妹帶兩條毛巾(from hotel) 與舒 適的穿著。

 “ 創作與分享”by 李淑櫻Nami Yang- 發現自己的創作能力，體驗創作的喜樂，將創作結果與人分享 . 淑櫻姐妹為專業藝術工作者，作品曾入選法國藝術家沙龍，現任太平洋時報藝文版 特 約作家，新藝畫會會長，挪大月曆製作組組長

11:00pm Motor coach drops the group back at the hotel

8:30am-9:15am  Guided Garden Tour

9:30am-10:15am  Narrated Tram Tour of the former rice fields; no the Audubon Swamp

10:30am-11:30am  free time on your own to visit gift shop & attractions at Magnolia

11:30am  Depart the Plantation

12 noon – 1:00pm Lunch in the City - On their own

1:00pm-2:30pm City Tour

2:30pm  Depart City for the Hotel

3:00pm  Arrive back at the Hotel

*Included in the rate is a step on tour guide for the City Tour, admission to Magnolia Plantation for the guided tour, the house tour and the narrated tram tour.  Gratuity for the bus driver and tour guide are not provided. 須要停留 Charleston Downtown 久一點的人可搭旅館付費的 shuttle.
